An Occasional Series of Silliness
« on: July 27, 2007, 10:33:42 AM »

I get 'Private Eye', and it's full of 'real' silly stories from newspapers and the media. So every now and then, for your delectation and delight I'm going to print a couple here. First up:

From 'Welsh Assembly Literature':

A total of 100 farmers
in Wales will be able to
benefit from a GBP 70 cash
injection to help semen test
one of their bulls.

The funding, is being offered
on a first come, first served basis.

LMAO!! ;D

I used to buy the Private Eye book of mis-prints - they were absolutely hilarious! Sadly you can't get them any more.

Colemanballs is also brilliant. I'll put some of those up later. I'm going out to see the cricket when the rain lets off.

Colemanballs:

"Ardiles strokes the ball like it was a part of his anatomy." (Jimmy Magee, RTÉ)

"Neil Harvey, standing at leg slip with his legs wide apart, waiting for a tickle." (Brian Johnston, BBC)

"Botham struggled to get his leg over there." (Jonathan Agnew, BBC)

"Rutherford's asking the umpire how many balls he's got left... he's got two." (Bryan Waddle, Radio New Zealand)

"This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning and it was amazing." (Pat Glenn, Weightlifting Commentator)
