Avatar is going to be a trilogy. It is a tremendous success.

I have just seen AVATAR! It is fantastic! Very good movie, original and unusual with very good ideas.
Hmm... I think I'll disagree with you on that...
Avatar is going to be a trilogy.
Oh really? I think I can predict what will be the story line in the following two.
I liked it though, very cool to watch it in 3D.

Watched also the new Sherlock Holmes movie. It's excellent!

Sherlock Holmes was much better than thought it would be. I guess it's gonna be a series cuz they barely introduced Moriarty. Cool.

Sherlock Holmes was much better than thought it would be.

Same! My initial reason for seeing that film was "hmm, let's see just how badly they will mess it up", but I was pleasantly surprised :) And I'm glad they didn't mess up the characters (some people make Watson exaggeratedly slow/silly... glad they didn't do that).

Last one I saw was Avatar, in 3-D. Never seen a movie in 3-D before, so that was intersting. I liked the movie, but I think I liked the Sherlock Holmes movie more.

I have just seen AVATAR! It is fantastic! Very good movie, original and unusual with very good ideas. I loved the planet, its beauty and its peace and the connection between all the creatures living on it.
But mind the movie is very long.

I saw Avatar this weekend too. I liked it a lot, I'm not one to usually be impressed with super-cool graphics and such (and I wasn't!), but the story was pretty good, even a little bit unpredictable as to how much the good guys would win this time, or not.

Ridiculously, I've read that the right wing nut jobs in the USA are up in arms about it because it promotes:

a) Naturalism and spiritualism, rather than strict Roman Catholicism (honest to goodness, this is for real! [ http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?p=6103211 ; http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/017/350fozta.asp ] )

b) Anti-Americanism (Marines can do things that aren't right?  :o )

And the left is all atwitter too - apparently it is not sensitive enough to transgenderism .. http://stopavatarmovie.blogspot.com/  ???

Jeesh, it's just a movie! Just more signs that the apocalypse is upon us ...

Ok, I loved Avatar!!  I honestly forgot that I was watching a CGI film!  (We didn't see it in 3D though, my boyfriend has some weird thing with his eyes where it just gives him a huge migraine after).

I'm hoping to get out to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie this weekend, I've been hearing some pretty good stuff about it and staying true to character...

I saw Sherlock Holmes and Avatar.
I gotta say, plot wise, Sherlock Holmes is better.
I think Avatar reminded me too much of "Dances w/ Wolves in outer space"
My favorite part in SH was how he planned his fighting moves, and then you got to see it in action. ;D

I saw 'Up in the Air', it was okay I guess. The brunette girl isn't the world's best actress.
I just had a problem w/ the fact that the blond lady in the movie looks alot like Heather Mills.

I`ve heard a lot of opinions like that. 1.The film is anti-Christian, not only anti-Catholic. 2.The film is anti-American, one reason being: "What can you offer them, cheap beer or jeans? They don`t need it." Kind of, they don`t need your values, you won`t have your mission so easily accomplished this time.
In fact I don`t find anything so anti-anti. I think it`s a clever movie.

'Life Of Brian' is really one of those movies that you can watch for 10-20 times without getting sick of it.

I`ve seen both movies, and I like Avatar more. Hard to explain why, maybe because I don`t like magia themes so much, all this magic, which finally can be easily unravelled. But what I did like was the Dawny-Law tandem, the actors are amazing, a perfect match!

Reeker
The plot couldn't possibly have been less original: five young adults get stranded in the middle of nowhere and spend the night in a deserted motel where they get slaughtered one by one. And unless you haven't seen more than five horror movies in your life, the ending was totally predictable. But still this really isn't a bad movie. Great camera work, nice location, decent actors and some good dark humor.

The Attic
This movie reminded me why I have a soft spot for bad low-budget horror movies. The really bad ones are often just as enjoyable as the good ones and this was a really bad one (although really not as bad as the 3.6 on IMDb suggests). The main character is a complete b**** so you really don't care if she dies or not and the rest of the cast just seems confused and unsure which emotions they're supposed to express. The most rediculous thing about this movie: the girl first has a violent encounter with a ghost in her attic but doesn't seem to have any really problems going back to the attic after that. But after she's seen the same ghost in her backyard, she consequently refuses to leave the house for the rest of the movie. Again, totally predictable ending if you're somewhat familiar with the genre.

I just saw Lovely Bones...  again I must say another book to movie adaptation that missed the mark a little.  I think that too after seeing the stunning graphics in Avatar, the graphics in the Lovely Bones seemed almost cheap in comparison.  It has been quite a while since I read the book but I was leafing through it while watching the movie.  They definitely played up the "who done it" aspect of it and it seemed kinda lacking of the human aspect that I thought was prevalent in the book.
