Kev,  John's Yamaha L-52 Custom was a high-end guitar made in Yamaha's Custom Shop during Yamaha's "Golden Era" of the 1970s.  A nice one of that vintage would cost about $10,000 today.

The L-52 could be special-ordered with black or tortoise pick guards...





...Looks a lot better, I think.

She could have sprung for an L-53 Custom like John Denver's...












A nice L-53 from the mid-1970s would cost about $40,000 today.
