The Beatles or Queen?

Who do you think is the best and why? Personally I think Queen is the best ever. Best singer and best musicians and better music.

I think Queen is a good band and that Freddie is a great singer.  I also know that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, but I can't see anyway that Queen can be deemed better than the Beatles.

Well, considering this is a Beatles forum and we are all Beatles fans...i would say HANDS DOWN THE BEATLES!  :)
Dont get me wrong Queen is very good but The Beatles are in a different league and will go down in history as THE BEST.
(but I am just biased I guess)

Queen was a great little band and had some fabulous songs. They came along while we were still sulking over the breakup of The Beatles, so we needed a lift and they provided the lift, but never stacked up to legend.
BEST SINGERs...
When I listen to a singer-songwriter there are several factors to consider.
1. Vocal Tone Quality.- this has to do with "How long can I listen to the singer without getting tired of him?"
    * IMO - Paul has the edge over Freddie. Paul wrote and sang "Yesterday" (one of many standards) and "I"m Down"... in the same session. Two songs that go in opposite directions. Paul's screams in "I'm Down" were even pleasing to listen to.
2. Vocal Range. - Both singers have great range. Paul could hit at least a high "G" (15th fret on the E string #1 of a quitar).
3. Some singers are great singers... some songwriters are great songwriters... but very few are great at both. So if were comparing notes, we have to compare all the notes. Count the hits and Queen would be in The Beatles dust.

BEST BAND\MUSICANS
Both bands produced great songs... The Beatles just produced more of them. And oh yeah... ask the average music fan to name all the members in Queen. That has something to do with popularity in they eyes of fans.

I like a bit of Queen but i have to be in the mood for them .
The Beatles i think are in a different class better songwriters by far .

Can't abide Queen. Too much in your face and can't stand May's guitar sound.
I remember a neat qoute that said something like Queen are what rock would have looked and sounded like if the Nazi's had won the war.

I started listening to Queen recently and WOW. LOVE THEM. Freddie Mercury's voice is amazing. And he's Persian too. I'm half Persian so.. whatever. That doesn't really mean anything.

Well, go to Queen thread, we have one here on different artists. There you can tell everybody how much you love them and which song is the best. I will gladly join you there.
I love Queen, I love Freddie. Still, I believe that The Beatles are better, and think that we can`t compare them, we can only speak about our preferences. And everybody will be right and will pronounce the truth in the last instance. Though Freddie is Persian but the band is very British. It`s Britishness itself. Sorry if you all disagree. But that`s how Queen is taken in some other places. A lot of people believe that Brian May is really more British than any other artist. Would he seem such to you? I would be very interested to hear your opinions.

Taken aside that Freddie Mercury wasn't exactly the kind of guy that nazi's liked.
