Thanks Euan. It looks like the countdown I’d seen to something happening on 26 October was only to the announcement  ha2ha

And of course with the Stones release of Hackney Diamonds, we’ll have competing new songs from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones! Back to the 60s!

Interesting what they’ve done. They’ve added tracks to the red and blues so they now include some covers. And also done the Giles Martin remixing on the early tracks. Will be great to hear Rubber Soul tracks in particular with the Giles treatment.

Peter Jackson Talks About Making The Beatles’ Last Music Video

I’m looking forward to seeing the vault footage of Paul, George and Ringo working on Now and Then and the film that Pete Best contributed. As the Daily Beatle mentions it could be this, cleaned up.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Lwh6BJGyw&amp;t=2s" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Lwh6BJGyw&amp;t=2s</a>

Too bad the original audio is lost to history. A commenter on YouTube says according to a “reliable source” they were performing Cliff Richard’s cover of Dream and Gene Vincent’s Dance in the Street, which they changed to Twist in the Street. But the world may never know.  ;D

The short doco on making of Now and Then is now out.  It includes a snippet of John’s voice isolated from the original tape. Sounds amazingly clear.

Same here. I'm so glad the documentary is available on YouTube and not restricted to Disney+. I got a lump in my throat watching it. Hearing John's vocals brought back again the pain at the fact that he was taken from us much, much too soon.

I hope this resolves any lingering concerns any fans have about the use of AI. I know there was a bit of a kerfluffle back when the term was mentioned.

Yes it seems the only AI is Peter Jackson’s to isolate the vocals. There’s no AIed vocals or anything according to Jeff Jones.

Goosebumps time, right? that clear Lennon vocal and bang on the tune as always.
"Haunting" is precisely the right word, Todd. That gorgeous melancholy sound is kind of eerily catchy.
One concern though: is George actually ON this recording?
I want to think all four are "in there", but Paul mentioned something about paying tribute, mimicking George's style/licks.
He said they still have the Harrison input - but did they use it?
George famously disavowed pursuing development of this track back in the '90s.

Was wondering that myself Mr. M.  The way Paul worded it was that he copied or simulated the solo in George's slide style, but did it himself.  I would love clarification on that.
