I knew Paul didn't stop smoking weed.
« on: July 20, 2006, 11:47:22 AM »

I knew Paul didn't stop smoking weed, even though I thought he did, especially after his infamous 80 Japan bust.  It must have been during his interviews since the 80's, where he seemed to say he had quit for some reason, but I knew on the inside it probably wasn't true, being the pot conniseur that he is.  I don't do drugs or drink at all, I don't advocate pot use or any other illegal drugs, even though I think pot should be legalized & he's probably smoking more pot than ever, with his divorice.

I don't smoke pot, but I never understood why people make such a big deal about it. When it comes to being harmful/dangerous, pot is probably on pretty much the same level as alcohol.

So at the same time you thought he did and knew he didn't? That must've been pretty confusing...

Hello Mr. Biscuit--let me just say this--if you took a room full of people and gave them all that they could drink--you'd have tears, fights, etc., if you took that same room and gave them all the weed they could smoke, (which these days isn't much because it's so potent), you'd just have people forgetting what the hell they were talking about, laughing, and a minimum of people p*ssed, if any. Is that advocating for pot? No. But it is the lesser of 2 evils. I hardly get high anymore, all my old pot smoking friends are doing the domestic thing, which is great, have moved away, you know, life's usual momentum, but there is a distinct difference between pot and alcohol. The only real drawback to pot is if you smoke it all the time and the paranoia sets in, and who wants to be buzzed like that?

I know there's a big difference between being stoned and being drunk (even though I've never been stoned), but my point is that I think it's unfair that pot is illegal while alcohol is perfectly accepted. When I was young and got drunk for the first time, my parents were fine with that because that's what young people do. But when they found out I tried pot once they became concerned and a bit angry. I never really understood that.

Unfair? It's downright criminal. Old prejudices die hard I guess. Though the police are generally very cool about it these days

Everything is, but sex is the topper. I've been to some pretty upscale restaurants in my day, but when you're baked and have the munchies, a hamburger from McDonalds and a box of Cap'n Crunch could be the best meal you've ever eaten. Pot is not a dangerous drug-people will say that it's an (shoot, I can't remember what the word is and I'm not even cooked) an enabling drug or whatever they call it, well, all of my old buddies weren't scuzzy, didn't end up shooting heroin or whatever. So Buiscuit is right. I don't know what the statistics are, but I'm willing to bet that if you took the amount of car accidents/fatalities due to alcohol vs. those due to marijuana, alcohol will will win hands down. And to the person who said we should get cooked and discuss it, I think it's a grand idea, but there is the problem of trying to make a point that lasts longer than 30 seconds, otherwise you'll forget what the hell you were trying to say. The upshot is that you don't mind everyone else laughing at you, because you're laughing just at yourself just as hard.

I'd been going out with this girl for about a fortnight. We went to the park and got stoned. Caught the bus home - on which we agreed I'd buy some ciggies while she went and bought some Chinese and we'd meet on the corner to make our way to my house (she didn't know where it was). Got off the bus, went to the shop, bought me ciggies, went home. Watched TV for a good half an hour until my flatmate said "where's Julie?" Holy sh*t!!. But bless her, there she was, waiting on the corner. Suprisingly the relationship never lasted

I wasn't confused about Paul's pot use at all unlike yourself Biscuit Power, but I thought he had quit for good during the 80's.
