the thing that surprised me the most is songs like maxwells silver hammer and only a northern song were even in the race for wooden spoon, if you went through the beatles for sale album alone you could find 3 or 4 songs more fitting of the wooden spoon
Strongly agree with this as well. The wooden spoon race gave me a headache. There are only a few Beatles songs I have a knee-jerk dislike to. Having to select something when most of these songs had a certain amount of merit was painful. Like Blue Meanie, I also had my little list of what qualified as a proper wooden spoon song. It made life extra uncomfortable for me. You may now pity me.
