Great stuff.

The question is going to be asked as to why on this new set we are not getting Something Take 37 with the entire piano ending and jam.

It will probably be referred to in the book but won't be on the sessions CD !

They prefer to give us instrumentals ...

Suffering as I do from completistitis, I shall of course be buying the Superdeluxe CD/BluRay package.

Right, but will the Superdeluxe CD/BluRay package have Her Majesty complete with the final chord?

The Alternate Abbey Road CD contains George Harrison and Paul Simon performing Here Comes The Sun on Saturday Night Live on 20 November 1976...

https://youtu.be/KEgBMTMUanU

I taped it that night on my VCR.  It seems like only yesterday.

l know the feeling Kelley, I've asked my kids please don't buy me any more CDs or DVDs for Xmas or birthday

The problem I have is that I do want this sort of thing. LOL I wish I didn’t because it’s a lot of money to spend on myself. But otherwise, most everything I listen to is streaming. Good for you for decluttering. I’m working on that now. Thirty three years in the same place and it’s like an archeological dig in places!

I wish that and their version of Homeward Bound would find their way on to some proper release. Including a cleaned up video. They’re lovely versions. Maybe if we ever get Volume 2 of George’s Early Takes...

The only reason I’d want the CD/DVD now is for the better sound quality than streaming gives you. And to listen to the 5.1 mixes. If I’m listening on my proper stereo then, for my absolute favourite CDs, it would be worth it. And for listening to whole operas for which CDs still work best. But frankly it’s not like I do that very often. 99 per cent of my listening is streaming.

Decluttering has been a thing of mine for several years. At my place now I don’t even have a bookcase. I mostly read on my kindle. My books are mostly boxed ready to donate or, if really precious, in cupboards somewhere out of sight. Same with remaining CDs.

That said, if anything is worth adding to clutter, it would be a good Beatles remix/reissue.

Moog, Paul Simon hosted Saturday Night Live with George as the musical guest in 1976. I remember that night so I was thrilled when my daughter got us those DVDs for Christmas. Choosing that particular season was a good guess on her part!

I think you and Kev should get together to teach people like me to declutter. You could be the male and Australian versions of Marie Kondo.  ;)

On this episode of The Clutter Hunters:

Kev : Strewth mate. This one’s a bit of a mess.

Moog: Too right mate. A real dogs breakfast.

Kev: Crikey. Reckon she could do with some help from the Clutter Hunters.

Moog: If the sheila’s fair dinkum, reckon you’re right mate.

Cut to Moog and Kev throwing rubbish in a skip

Woman (screeching like a cockatoo): aaaw bloody hell no. c’mon you blokes. Not me Chris Hemsworth poster!!!

Moog to Kev: This ones carrying on like a pork chop.

Kev to Moog: Bloody oath. Few roos loose in the top paddock I reckon.

Cut to Kev and Moog giving the thumbs up.

Kev and Moog: We’re The Clutter Hunters

Segue to instrumental version of “Downunder”

Perfect guess! I only saw them for the first time a couple of years ago. It was great to see George was enjoying himself and sounding so good knowing that at that time he was emerging from a bit of a cocoon. That’s why id like good CD release of the songs. I’m not much of an SNL watcher so buying the DVDs isn’t really the option. And the YouTube videos aren’t very good quality.

Next day:
Kev to Moog, strewth mate I'm feeling bloody crook, that Sheila really spit the dummy.

Moog to Kev,  yeah, and her poor husband strutting around in his budgie smugglers, poor buggar, but she'll be right mate, no worries on that score. She'll be apple's.

Boy does it have legs! I knew you two were born for this. Are you going to have subtitles like Marie Kondo? I know what you're saying but not everyone has studied Australian as extensively as I have.   ;)

Might need to do what they did for the original Mad Max film in the US, overdubbed it with American actors.

Naw. It would be lacking a certain je ne sais quoi that only my mates Moog and Kev can deliver. So when will you guys be here? And remember: I have a perfectly good reason for having two can openers.

I just heard Something from the Abbey Road box set. Billy Preston really comes through and I didn’t even realize he played on this. I had to look it up to make sure I wasn’t imagining things.

We were able to get rid of our can opener Kelley as cans now have ring pull lids  ha2ha
