There is an excellent site called
Every Hit
that has statistics on every British chart entry since charts began, and plenty more besides. Does anyone know of an American equivilent?

Maybe Billboard, but the amount of information they offer online to non-subscribers is very limited:

If you want a full list of
#1 singles/albums
AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY,
#2 SINGLES/ALBUMS
(which is much more difficult to find), check this out!!
And enjoy it!!

This page is amazing! It includes a list of all the #1's and #2's from even before charts exists!!
Check it out and you'll know what I mean.
