SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY is jealous of late bandmate JOHN LENNON's cult status, and insists he too deserves credit as a major music-maker. The BEATLES legend is still bitter his songwriting talent is overshadowed by the work of the I AM THE WALRUS "genius" - who was murdered in 1980. I have not read all of that Sandra but I guessed it was some mis-quote from somewhere. I just wonder if Paul and Yoko's respective PR companies keep themselves employed by continually issuing out such drivel.

Maybe it was Ydoll who quoted it! lol

I don't blame Paul; he knows what he did for alot of songs that John supposedly wrote solo--sometimes it might just be a musical phrase or chord progression, but without his help songs like "In My Life" or "A Day in the Life" would not have been the same.  

And as far as Mozart goes, I don't think either belongs in that company.  Give them a couple hundred years . . . and we'll see if  "The Magical Mystery Tour" stands up to "The Magic Flute."

BTW, that article is from this months AARP! Paul is on the cover. Which is pretty funny. I didn't recognize him for a minute when I saw it sitting on my mom's front porch. I kept thinking, this guy looks really familiar...and I've been staring at that face for years. Not a flattering picture.

Thanks for posting that Sandra. it's no wonder that celebrities often complain about misquotes made by reporters--- you can see how crap they can be.

And the whole John=god thing is annoying too. If you read old press, they don't favour him as strongly as they do today. It's just a fact that singers who die young become martyrs. John, Jim Morrison, Janis, et al.

I agree with what Mairi said - it's not the first time the boys were misquoted and it definitely won't be the last time. Suppose that especially the english press is very good in doing so.

Really? Wow. I still can't believe I never knew this stuff. She almost had a wee McCartney. Too weird. He looks so young in that pic. She looks odd. But he never went for model beauty did he? That's what makes him so great. The subtance seems more important to him. And I know Heather's an ex-model, but she really doesn't look like the type most rock stars go for. She's no Gissele Bunchen or Claudia Schiffer.

Dot looks like she could be a cool person to hang with, and she adored him. Paulie. like most males, probably couldn't resist the temptation. Not all males, but most. I give her credit for not being one of the minions to tell all.
