Sad news indeed.  He did a great job acting the role of the professor in Gilligans Island, enduring endless frustration coming up with ideas for getting everyone off the island which didn't work out.  He played the straight man with a touch of comic relief; not an easy thing to do.  But with all the resources on on that island, they all overlooked the easiest solution to their plight.  All they had to do was fix those couple of holes in the SS Minnow's hull...





Thanks for giving us the professor, Mr. Johnson.  You'll be missed.

I learned Waltzing Matilda when I was in second grade.  Our music teacher taught us the meanings of all the Australian words, but didn't explain the waltzing Matilda part.  So I had trouble relating the image of a formal dance to what the swagman was doing.  It wasn't until I was in my high school folk music club that I learned what "waltzing Matilda" meant.

It's a beautiful song, and as I posted before, could easily be Australia's national anthem...

Feeling empowered because I successfully installed a new printer and wireless keyboard and mouse. After 18 years of a traditional marriage in which my husband took care of all the auto/computer/home repair stuff, I feel like I'm getting a bit of independence back.
