i think there is still a lot of great music out there, you just gotta look a lot harder for it now - the top 100 might have a few but the chanes are if its any good then it aint gonna be in there or it'll be outside the top 20 - the majority of non music fans just want something to dance to or something catchy that doesnt need any thought just mindless fun but for the music fans like our self who like to disect music and look into the lyrics and listen to all the great sounds  and stuff it aint enough.

Geez ive just realised my last 5 posts have been pretty dour and not been the cheeriest of posts - on a cheery note have a happy new year folks

what are you on about ? Joost never mentioned any of those as good music, so why point to the above post of joost's and say if you like those then it is bad ?

As I and many others have said there are loads of good music out there, but if you expect to just sit listengin to the top 100 you aint gonna find it - so get out exploring the web or even take a browse through myspace and pick bands at random, you might find something you like.

PS: Madonna aint all that bad she has made some great singles and im sure has made some good albums too just i havent heard them, a lot of folks hang ups with music is if they didnt write it or can't play an instrument then no matter how much i like the song i'm gonna take a disliking to them, which is a little sad to do yourself out of the pleasure of enjoying a song.

Again, you're just not looking hard enough. There's still a lot of great music. Difference is that in the 60s most of the good music made the charts and now it usually doesn't. There's more music than just what MTV broadcasts... Like Fendertale said, just check MySpace, or YouTube, or go to a festival and go see the bands on the smaller stages...
