Great song, well recorded. Don't know if it's George but it sounds like him :)
It' gets a bit ELO ish near the end  :P

Seeing Paul tomorrow, big Beatle week  ;)

Congrats on the show Kev.  Let us know if he plays it.

Ok finally listened. I like it. I think Pauls done a great job in developing it from the bits of John’s demo.  Johns voice sounds incredible. Paul’s added lines come in pretty seamlessly. It’s more bits of George in some subtle rhythm fills given we’ve been told that Paul added the slide in a George-esque manner. I wonder if some of it is George’s. The end guitar sounds a different tone to the solo. Overall the slide sounds less biting than on Free as a Bird or Real Love.

Some nice low key Ringo fills. He sound freer than on Free as a Bird and Real Love.

Good string arrangement in a Pepper/MMT homage by G. Martin

You done good lads.

Yes I agree Moog, it's a great job. Love Pauls bass lines as well.

Am I imagining a slight ELO sound towards the end ?

Here's what Mr Beato thinks..

Yeah it is a bit ELO ish. Although to be fair ELO cribbed their sound from 1967 Beatles.

Two little niggles, the transition to the solo I find a bit abrupt. Also it ends very quickly. I thought they could have gone on for another twenty seconds or so.

Will have to find time to watch the video now. Sounds like it’s a bit emotional for fans.

I couldn't agree more. I found it so beautiful and thought the ending was great. I had a lump in my throat.

If I ever needed to cry and couldn’t, that would be the antidote.

It’s a catchier tune than people are giving it credit for. I’m humming it all the time.

Yes.

I found that when I watched the Rick Beato video and he broke it down I realized how beautiful this haunting melody is, it's stuck in my head too. Gorgeous chords.

I think the issue with this and the other reunion tracks is they’re album tracks having to do the heavy lifting of a single. People expect to be grabbed straight away while these songs work their way in like many great tracks do.

Stupid ass song.  Everytime I listen to it, I break down.  Its like the sheer impact this band has had on my life just floods in and turns me inside out.  This song was a gift to us all and the reality that the end is near hits like a f***ing hammer.

Sorry to be the party pooper  ;D    While I do love the song, I really dislike parts of the video with cut and paste 1967 John and George. Was really surprised when watching and thinking, no, no  who the hell signed off on PJ doing this? Extremely tacky and amateurish to me. I won’t ever be watching it again

The ending is pretty cool but I came up with an alternate ending using my writer imagination and a few Beatle fans on Reddit thought my idea was quite good

This is it HG

Ok, so it’s nearing the end of Now And Then. We see the Fabs on the rooftop in 1969, in slow mo playing ( but no audio obviously)  then John fades away, then George. Paul and Ringo morph into their present selves, still playing on the rooftop now (I’m sure they’d get permission lol). As the song ends, they stop and look at each other, smile. We see John and George’s guitars leaning against the amps. Reverse drone shot moving away, showing London. Moving further into the sky until Paul and Ringo are just tiny figures on the roof. Travelling further back up into the atmosphere until the final shot is the globe of the Earth.

Showing that the world was for the Beatles and they belong to the world…
