Clear skies here in New Jersey.  We'll have the chance to see a total lunar eclipse later this morning before sunrise.

We got it around 8:15 pm last night. (its now the 9th here) Blood Moon.

I saw the early phase of the eclipse before the the moon was hidden by trees in my yard as it was setting.

Australia was a better place to see the total eclipse this time around.

I enjoy lunar eclipses because the shadow we're seeing on the moon proves that our planet Earth truly exists...just in case there was any doubt.

Clear skies again tonight.  Right now I can see, from west to east, Saturn, Jupiter, the Moon and Mars lining up along the ecliptic.

Mars is getting brighter as it approaches opposition.  I hope Tom Jones is still in good voice.  He saved the Earth when Mars was at opposition in 1996 and there was a Martian invasion...

It's raining here as Tropical Storm Nicole is moving along the East Coast.  Despite Nicole, Mars is still approaching opposition.

We got more than 2 feet of snow and ice the other day, so I'm still stuck in the "petulant jealousy" phase.

That's the thing that sucks, Barry, if you'll forgive my lapse into junior-high-speak. For most of the winter, the temps are too cold to enjoy the snow here.
