I think the Fanclub are a treasure. Unassuming, not changing the world or anything, but writing songs and singing harmonies that most bands would die for.
I started out with "Bandwagonesque" like most people. While I liked their songs and harmonies, I always felt those two albums (Bandwagonesque and Thirteen) sounded too similar from start to finish. Not enough in the way of dynamics. So I stopped following them. Then, over the years, I would keep reading all these reviews of albums like "Songs From Nothern Britain" that went on an on about how good they had become in their maturity. They were right
I'll post my thoughts about their new album "Man-Made" later. My fave new record at the moment.
