"Jet" Returns With A New Cd!

Jet will be bring out their second effort on Tues Oct 3rd! From what I have heard it should be a very solid effort which took quite a while to record! Currently it can be listened to on My-Space.

It still amazed me how that band managed to rip off so many songs in one song ("Are You Gonna Be My Girl" = "Lust For Life" by Iggy Pop, "Walk Like An Egyptian" by The Bangles, "Screwdriver" by The White Stripes, "Touch Me" by The Doors, several Stones songs...) and get away with it...

Actually the bass line from "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" is a direct swipe from "You Can't Hurry Love" by the Supremes.

Lust For Life and You Can't Hurry Love are actually pretty similar as well.

I read a scathing review on their new album, basically saying it was dad-rock and a poor attempt at that.
Each song ripping off some icon or other ... Deep Purple, Late-Lennon Period, T-Rex etc

Well, I for one loved 'Get Born' and have been anxiously awaiting the new one. I'll be picking it up with bells on.

Today being the 3rd, I just bought it a couple hours ago. I've gotten to the third song (which is the single), and so far so good!

I like the new song, "Holiday." It kicks ass.

Yeah, Get Born was awesome. Every song was great.
