Thank you, Barry! That was both helpful and entertaining. And it’s always nice to see the Get Together video again.  ;)

Are there steel drums in my guitar?

ha2ha Yeah, that’s cute and I think they always did that sort of thing in the Carrie Ann videos I’ve seen. It beats playing awkwardly and ignoring the obvious!

Oh cool; now there’s a bonus, two from ‘63 with Don Rathbone. Bravo, Professor!

That reminds me of Beatles in my Pants. I guess I haven’t matured much in 8 years because that thread still makes me laugh.  ;D

He Ain’t Heavy and The Air That I Breathe are two of the best non Beatle songs ever written

I agree, Stevie. The Air That I Breathe was a hit during the summer I turned 11 so I was a bit too young to grasp the whole meaning. That was also the summer that I first saw American Graffiti, a movie that introduced me to music I’d never heard before but fell in love with instantly. I saw it with my three cousins and why the two older ones agreed to take their little sister, who was almost 11, and me I’ll never know. I’m so glad they did though, because not only did I see my first PG (parental guidance suggested) movie, I have the memory of the four of us riding home and belting out the chorus of The Air That I Breathe when it came on the radio. That was the best night of that summer and, quite possibly, of my whole childhood.

I was a similar age when  The Air That I  Breathe was a hit. Great song that is really evocative of the time. Great melody and harmonies. Hollies carried it off perfectly.

It’s funny (in a sort of way) that the guy who wrote it said the girl he wrote it for wasn’t that good looking. A bit ugly really. But very nice person inside.  ??? Odd thing to recall and say out loud about a song but he seemed to assume that everyone thought such a song was written for some spectacular beauty.

A Taste Of Honey

Herb Alpert.  icon_love  :)

I’m starting to think that Graham Nash isn’t very good with names.

Without resorting to google I’ll say I think it was Graham Gouldman
