Is the Bangladesh concert George's finest moment?
« on: August 22, 2006, 02:22:37 PM »

I would have to say that the Bangladesh concert is George's finest moment as a live performer after the breakup of the Beatles.  He was at his peak as an artist at the time, with his masterpiece All Things Must Pass & he was even more popular than John & Paul.  I think the 74 U. S. tour was a big mistake & he should have waited until about 76, because his vocals were right, as well as his attitude. I heard the TCFB album about 25 years ago, I could only handle Ravi Shankar's performance once, but Harrison was great, along with Ringo & Clapton.  I have seen little bits & pieces of the concert in documentaries for about 30 years & videos of him playing My Sweet Lord, While My Guitar Gently Weeps & Something on a famous website.  It wasn't until last night that I finally saw the Bangladesh documentary itself, excluding RS's sitar peformance, on this famous site & it was great.

I'm going against the grain and saying that his 74' concerts were better.  ::)

I need a drink.

If you think George's 74 concerts were better tkitna, that's your opinion, but his Bangladesh concerts were his finest moment, above all others as a performer.  I think you need some Jack Daniels myself.

How can you not see that I was being sarcastic? Was my second post stating that I was being sarcastic not enough?

Now take your pillow and hold it over your mouth until you pass out.

I know you're uptight too much, nothing to be upset about & if you're saracastic about a drink, I don't care one way or another.

Seeing as he only ever did one fairly short tour of the states in '74, plus a few gigs in Japan, it wouldn't be difficult for it to be his finest moment.

He's on top of his game, one of the biggest stars on the planet at the time, and has a great set of musicians up there with him. So yes, you're right. But it's not a tough decision to make. ;)
