Will there be Beatles in heaven?
« on: July 21, 2004, 09:21:58 PM »

Im not sure how you all will respond to this question, but do you think that John and George are in heaven? That is, of course, if you yourself belive in heaven in the first place. Maybe a better way to put it is to ask, does anyone know what John and George believed in? Paul, Ringo? Lets try to avoid any arguments on religion and just focus on what the Beatles believed.

George was a follower of Eastern religions (thank you captain obvious), and I don't think John was very into religion.  But its hard to imagine them being "gone"

They were originally agnostics, tho each was raised in various protestant denominations of one sort or another (as most of us are as kids).

Well, being an agnostic I don't believe in Heaven, but if chances would cross I'd be admitted (D'oh!), I would certainly send complaints to the managment if the Beatles weren't there. I mean, who can live in bliss without good music? ;)

Imagine there's no heaven....

No matter what though, The Beatles will live on and be known of until the sun finally swallows the Earth.

They will be where they will decide to be. And we can't know what their decision will be.

I believe in Heaven and feel God has created all. Therefore God is the only person who can judge one to enter the Kindom of Heaven. So I leave this topic to the one true judge. God

I dono, I have a feeling they're back, as someone different.  You know, the whole reincarnation bit. They're probably still good at music, they both had enough talent to last them a few lifetimes.

I don't think God would give such gifts to people he didn't intend to let into heaven.  I think they both got a free pass.  However if their spirits were magically wooshed into someone elses body, I would have to say that John went to Liam Gallagher, and George went to Noel Gallagher.

I think they'd both get into heaven. Especially George.

I feel the comparisons between Oasis and the Beatles are valid, but in my eyes, Oasis are just a band trying to mimic the sound and style of the Beatles.

The Beat-Sound and generation can be seen in Oasis's act, but the carbon copied riff's and Harmonies and structures are all too much for a Beatle fan like myself.

I feel Liam Gallahher's constant striving to be Like John Lennon is just laughable. Sadly this Manchester scruff has not got the Talent nor the intelligence of John.
Keep wearing the round spectacles Liam..you never know.... ... ... . .

Oasis doesn't sound enough like the Beatles that one could say they're copying them exactly.  There are alot of similarities in the music, but Oasis is a pretty original sounding band with a ton of original substance to them.  Oh yes, and they have Mr. Starkey's son as their drummer now.

I'm staying out of this as much as I can. But NO ONE gets a free pass. That's just silly.
But,of course,I'm not God; I'll leave it up to him.

I like Some Might Say myself.  "Some might say they don't believe in Heaven.  Go and tell it to the man who lives in Hell."  Good line.

Anyhow, maybe there are no free passes, maybe there are.  If ever there was one given I would say it would be given to John Lennon.  Though I see no reason why he should go to Hell anyhow.  He did many good deeds, and that's what God likes to see.  I'm sure he's there.  It wouldn't be Heaven to me without him.  :(
