Fab Christmas Album
« on: October 08, 2005, 11:46:01 PM »

Its way too early for me to think about Christmas, but it was brought up in another post, so I thought I'd toss this out. I got this set last year and it is incredibly entertaining. I really don't care for Beatles' cover bands, but these guys really do a good job, and putting Christmas lyrics on top of it. My favorite one is easily 'Jingle Bells' done to 'Tomorrow Never Knows', 'It is knowing' becomes 'It is snowing'--loses alot in translation, you just have to hear it.

You'll be mucho impressed. I was at a club for a benefit show just before Xmas last year, and I heard Beatles music (barely) above the din, and I thought whoever put this compilation together knows his Beatles, hearing Please Please Me, mixed in with 'I'm A Loser' then 'Tomorrow Never Knows', and as I strained to hear it, I realized they were Christmas songs. I thought that someone took the Beatles songs, erased the vocals, then added the Xmas lyrics, and I don't get easily fooled by people trying to sound like them, you can usually tell by the first note or two. So I bought it. Now I'll grant you, no one sounds exactly like them, its impossible, but this is such a clever melange, and the music is so close to the originals ('Tomorrow Never Knows' is very impressive),

Hope you got the right one, there's a few out there, but the one I had in the link is the deal. I hope I haven't hyped it up too much. It really sucks.
