I bought a crappy version on eBay around 2007. Film quality is poor and sound isn’t great either. I can’t wait for the new Jackson film plus what I assume will be a remastered and cleaned up version of the original.

Let It Be was filmed in 16mm. The quality of the movie in the theater and on my DVD are about the same. I'm happy with my DVD as that's the way I saw it in the movie theater in 1970.

Watching the movie that night in 1970 was not an enjoyable experience. I sat there witnessing the end of a group that defined the 1960s and I wondered what the new decade in music would be like.

The digitally remastered version is, of course, much better as we have seen on the Sneak Peek. I'm curious to see how Disney+ will present the movie. They might add the out takes into the film. It wouldn't disturb the continuity of the original theatrical release as that version was pretty much disjointed anyway.

I’d have thought the outtakes will be used to form part of the six hour Jackson film. Then they can leave Let it Be as it was. Just with better sound and upgraded picture.

That looks fantastic. Seriously, what was Michael Lindsay Hogg thinking the way he put together Let it Be when all this footage was left in the can.

It does seem like Jackson is building a narrative of his own of course. But it might at least be an interesting one, unlike the original film.

but it appears he is showing both unseen goodness and fun with some of the bad, Paul making the remark about breaking up because Yoko sat on an amp and George walking out/quitting. Seems, at least in what they showed, to have both sides of the spectrum at least.

Yes. Looks like he’s framing it as them facing all these problems and they’ll finish with the triumph of the rooftop and other songs.

The footage looks great that’s for sure.
