When I was in college the Australian exchange students in our program had to sing that for us and explain what it meant. They didn't look all that excited to do it, either.
Im not surprised Kelley, those names are very much from the past (although they can get used in the outback) most City people would never say them and the younger people would feel embarrased about using them
Nobody ever says strewth either
some that are still used;
he shot through = he left town
out wup wup = somewhere out in the bush
smoko = tea/coffee break
garbo = man who empties dustbins
arvo = afternoon
footie = football
drongo = stupid person
hoon = young reckless driver
etc etc..
