Who Threw the Overall in Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder? was fun to play on Mom’s Magnus chord organ, too.
Omigosh, we used to have one of those! Boy, that brings back memories. The sheet music we had was all for boring, dirge-like songs, though. But we still had fun with it.
I hope you have a nice St. Patrick’s Day, Kathy. I’m going to spend some time (again) trying to finally figure out the name of the ship that brought my Irish grandfather and his family to the US. My poor aunt tries so hard to remember. I’d love to find out enough information to have her say, “Yes! That’s it!”
Thanks; you, too, Kelley (and everyone on the forum). I really do need to look up my family ancestry information. My father told me a few months ago that his grandparents (or maybe it was great-grandparents) were once guards to the Russian czar. He also said they'd tried to Americanize their surname by changing some consonants to vowels. I'd like to find out whether that's true, and I'd LOVE to find out the name of the ship(s) my ancestors took over to this country.
