yes.yes I am. I like all rock. Not just soft stuff like beatles. And I am extremely hyperactive. I have been drugged out almost my whole life on adhd pills and now I'm off of it I've become quite rebellious :)

I was born in 1961 and became aware of them from about 1967 ,although i did'nt take much notice until the early 70's when i got into Paul and Wings , so technically i'm first generation but second generation appreciation wise .

Don't think you can say they will be gone until Ringo and Paul go , after that it's up to us to keep their memory going , which won't be difficult when they have left us such treasure .

I think I'd define a first generation fan as someone who became one while the group was active. A second generation fan might be someone who came on board between the group's demise and Lennon's death in 1980.

That's perfect... i think for the sake of further defining it you could pick an era within those to define yourself... like first generation Help! fan etc.

Hmm... that would make me a punk era... something. ;)

Just found this thread....and boy do I qualify as first generation!!

Born 1950..saw the Beatles on People and Places age 12...and I still remember this strange

tingle down my back, my face flushing and nearly crying all at the same time!!

I'd fallen in love with 4 men!!

Daredn't tell my Dad( who later hated them with a passion ) but it wasn't homoerotic love , just

what the rest(most) of the world experienced 12 /18 months later.

After P andP I begged , took returnable glass bottles back to the pub and got a "sub" on my

paper round money until I had 6 shillings and 8 pence, the cost of Love Me Do in 62...didn't

realise then , that it was "red label" as was Please Please Me.

God! If I'd only saved everything eg pencils/pens/keyrings. As it is I've still got a ton of

newspaper clippings and "giveaways" from the likes of Valentine , Mirabelle and

Fabulous....aaahh the memories of a 57 year old teenager!!

I was born in 1982, I have been listening to The Beatles my whole life.  My father was born in 1947 and was a huge Beatles fan growing up and my mother was born in 1961 and loved them also.

So, I don't know.  Being that I was born even after Lennon had died.... Where does that leave me?

That just goes to show how great they are thoughm that so many generations, young and old still love and continue to love The Beatles :) :)
