Funny-  about a week ago somehow, someway I was drawn to listen to some Billy Joel (from his greatest hits) and hadn't in a very long time.  Great listen, especially many of the songs from The Stranger - I agree.

Interesting stuff! I had no idea Peter, Paul, and Mary's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" was a cover.

I also never knew there was a band called the Boo Radleys. I used to have that as my username on a different forum.

Still so much to learn....

Yes, Kathy.  John Denver wrote Leaving On A Jet Plane in 1966 and it was recorded by The Chad Mitchell Trio, Spanky And Our Gang and Peter Paul And Mary in 1967.

Leaving On A Jet Plane was included on John Denver's 1969 debut solo album Rhymes & Reasons...

Yep, one of my favorites. I was a serious John Denver fan in junior high. I still have a very nice drawing that a certain cute boy did for me, of John Denver on horseback. I wonder if he remembers drawing that??

Haha I wouldn't be surprised!  Some modern music can be terrible.  I just remember as a 14 year old, turning on MTV2 and there was this whole breed of angular British Indie coming out...  I spent a lot of time in front of that channel as a fledgling music-obsessor!
