thougt I'd give it a blast after reading through the thread about it the other day and have only just got round to it. I think it's the most casualy listenable Beatles album. It's not got as many high points as Revolver and Sgt. Pepper but it has got some sublme stuff on it esp. from paul on side 2 with the marvellous YNGMYM & Golden slumbers. Something is always a pleasure to listen to. Come toghether is spoiled by the plagiarism aspect. W/e John says if it wasn't for Chuck Berry's song Johns song wouldn't exist at least not anything like it does as it is. There's also some other plagiarims in Johns songs on this album. In fact the only two songs he contributed that weren't plagiarised were MMM & PP.  I think it's also tinged with sadness but also optimistic and fun in places too which I like because it just captures and reflects what was happening to them but there's no rancour or b****iness well not much which is remarkable really and make you feel really happy that they went out in style. It's a great moving uplifting testament to the end of remarkable band.  Whoah whoa whoa!

It's their swan song, so it's always a sad listen for me. Still, it has some high points, especially with George's contributions. Far from my fave, but any Fab Four album is a classic, to keep it in perspective.

It might be the last nice sunny day albeit blustrery of the year so I'm just giving my fav sunny day albums a last run out till next year. This is a sublime album. If you've not heard it you're missing a treat.
