Kev, when I was taking blues guitar lessons from Ian Buchanan, about a year went by and he asked me to sing the piece I was playing. After I did what he asked me to do, I said "So how did I sound?" He said "You sound like Neil Diamond trying to sing the blues." I was adding melismas (
) to help me keep on tune during chord changes. I took it as a compliment but I knew I wasn't sounding like a typical Delta blues singer.
