I can't remember the writers name but he had recently lost his wife and child in childbirth.

Yeah, after the Collectors disbanded, some of the remaining members went on to form Chiliwack. I fell n love with the song 'Lydia Purple' and had to check them out a little bit further. Nothing ground breaking, but they have a few good tunes.

Did I tell you I saw America here in Australia last year, it was just the duo of course Gerry Beckley and Dewey Burnell and to be honest they were awful, couldn't sing at all I was very disappointed. Still love their albums though.
My favourite was always Dan peak, miss him and is songs.

This is what happens when people who should know better make statements without conclusive evidence. In a nutshell, a press officer from the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool speculated in 2006 that Penny Lane was “probably” named after prominent slave trader James Penny. From what I’ve read they have never proven this as fact but do have a display that includes that hypothesis. Research has been conducted by other historians who feel it is not true. I’m eager to read the blog post linked below. It’s from a history blog about the Cast Iron Shore (yeah). I can’t figure out the author’s background because he uses a pseudonym but he has a lot of documentation in the post and claims it disproves any link to the slave trader.

Yes. There’s no real evidence that it’s named for him. And good evidence against. I’m sure IQs have dropped recently or something.

They certainly don’t help a good cause with that behavior. There’s enough real issues that need to be dealt with.
