Karelia is an autonomous republic within The Russian Federation (the bit they knicked off Finland in WW11). Komi rings a bell.

Anybody having problems ordering the stamps?

First off, the Royal Mail site won't let me enter the correct expiry date for my card. It's 2012, and there's only goes up to 2011.

Second, as usual for an English site, it won't let you put in your address correctly. It's asking for a street number first. As we all know most European (except UK) addresses have the street then the number.

I'd really like it to be correct on the 1st day covers. Anyone experiencing similar problems?

Tried to take some photos and do a scan - but with mixed results ...

Cheers Alan!

My dad just pointed out the 'First day of issue stamp' that you get if you post the stamp on a postcard on the first day of release before 5pm! He had done his homework! It shows a silhouette drum kit and Rickenbacker and has written " First day of Issue - Liverpool - 9. 1. 2007  8)

I Beatle bow my dad ...

That's awesome. You're lucky. I tried buying them from the post office website, but had problems. They're so cool!
