Mairi, I used to go there when I was younger, a few years ago when I actually somewhat liked Britney Spears, so I made a lot of friends there. I generally don't post in any of the Britney forums though, mostly the General Discussion because I have a lot of buddies there.

There are so many points going against this girl. Um, sorry...but -- how can they even try? =D The Beatles > Britney Spears. NO CONTEST. :D

Flaming another board goes nowhere. Aside from just, y'know, generally p*ssing people off on both sides. Wouldn't do it...but, whatever. =3

Some people like to listen to present music and ignore the past, some people like to listen to past music and ignore the present.

Very true peguin. But in my opinion musi today just doesn't shine or hold a place in a person's heart like it did then. Think about it.. People today hear a song on the radio. It's popular then so everyone loves it. Once it fades out on the radio everyone forgets about it and goes on to the next "big hit" that's playing on the radio.
It just seems a bit odd to me that people can just be so fickle.

I'm sure there were "fade away hits" back then, we just don't hear about them anymore. All we get is the romanticized version of the baby-boomer era. ("we" being the twentysomethings I suppose)

Don't get me wrong, I'm in the same rut. I find it hard to get into more recent music. But I think it's crucial that we, as a generation I suppose, don't fall into the "we don't have our own music culture so let's pick up the pieces of someone else's" trap. So many radio stations and so much literature seems to take that sort of approach, but you can't buy it. There isn't only Britney, there is still good talent. It's just being obscured by all this crap.

How is it again that the music industry is being driven by a demographic of females under the age of 16?

Actually It does.  Britney's already fading off the map I mean she married some slob of a loser just to get headlines, the whole vegas wedding and now she's pregnet?  I mean in a couple of years Kevin and Britney will be bringing up their hick, imbred kids in a trailer somewhere as the pathetic mindless mass of teeny boppers will have moved on to the new idol.  Also while all of this is going on The Beatles songs will still be playing and there records will still be selling as Britney's cds will go into the garbage bin.

Britney will eventually have to fall into the trap of a reality show to keep her popularity. They all do it. Hell, even travis Barker has a reality show now and he's a downright freak.

"Britney" is really much more talented than the "Beatles" ever will be! I mean she's never slagged "Jesus", and she was a Mouseketeer! Her music is really a lot deeper lyrically than any Beatle song! For God sakes she's got the name "BRIT" in hers and no Beatle has that and there from over there! (This has been a paid endorsement for the "We Love "Britney" Fan Club and pose stupid questions on a Beatle board) THANK YOU.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  Why do people follow "musicians" who don't play any instruments, or write their own songs or even sing live for that matter since they all lip sync now because they are too afraid to give an imperfect live performance.  Anyways why are these losers getting by on just their looks and no talent?  This just doesn't go for the music biz as the movie and televison industries also love to support good looking no talent ass clowns.  Man I'm getting sick of it.

Mr. Kite

Michael Bolton: Yeah, well at least your name isn't Michael Bolton.

Samir: You know there's nothing wrong with that name.

Michael: There was nothing wrong with that name until I was about 12 years old and that no talent ass clown became famous and started winning grammy's.

Samir: Why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael?

Michael: No way why should I change he's the one that sucks.
