Wait.  You have beautiful mornin's out there where you are too, Kathleen...

For now, at least. I figure a few of those 20-below nights with 40-mph winds—which surely are coming soon—will knock most of the non–NoDak protesters out of the state.  Until then I am enjoying the lovely autumn we're having, but I'm still jealous of Kevin and his wife.  ;)

They're still in the Capitol?

Not today; today they are headed to United Tribes Technical College, and to Fargo/Moorhead to block the highway. Then, I suppose, they'll head back to their squalid encampment and continue burning tires and slaughtering livestock.  :(

Burning tires seems like a strange action when part of the protest centers around environmental issues. We had that going on around here one summer, on a stretch of I 86 that runs through tribal land. I was glad that I didn't have to be in that vicinity.

I wouldn't worry too much. Another picture of golden sands and blue skies from Nim and we'll all be back to enviously drooling.

I've never been to Australia.  I'd have a hard time there being upside-down and the blood rushing to my head.

I guess the missus deleted that picture from your phone, Kev.  Maybe you forgot but you posted that picture last year:  Re: What's the weather like in your country or state?

That's what happens when you get to be 64, I reckon.

ha2ha  That reminds me of a time when my (then-spouse) ex and I were at a University of Missouri football game and the Golden Girls (you can imagine—pretty much the same as those luscious meter maids) came around to offer free game tickets or something. I fixed him with such a glare he looked fixedly forward, but I'm sure he was sneaking a peak at her perfect physique. (Hey, I made a rhyme!)

Hey Dmitry
On our last cruise the Russians in Vladivostok were much more welcoming than the Chinese, I  don't think Chinese people like tourists very much

I liked Vladivostok there was a really nice fun fair near the beach, lots of families happy & friendly

It's funny but most of my life another obsession of mine has been the books of John Le Carre,  in particular the George Smiley novels, Tinker Tailor etc

I couldn't stop thinking as I walked the streets of Vladivostok about  Karla and the mole in the Circus ha2ha

Congratulations, Kev! You are the first forum member who visit Russia  cheer1  So it wasn't so dangerous as some people think?
I'm glad you liked Vladivostok. I've heard the Russians have the reputation of hospitable people (I mean foreign people say so), so it wasn't a suprise that people you see were much welcoming; still it is pleasure to hear about it from you.

I've never read John Le Carre but it's funny, you're right, spies etc..?
Next time before visiting Vladivostok read, for example, Vsevolod Krestovsky, Anton Chekhov  ;)
Or next time will be in Sochi or Yalta?  roll:)
