A quick go

One thing was finding a good album closer. I opted for the epic at the end.

Back in the USSR
Dear Prudence
While my Guitar
Blackbird
I’m so tired
Martha my Dear
Julia

Mother Natures Son
Savoy Truffle
Sexy Sadie
I will
Cry Baby Cry
Helter Skelter
Happiness is a warm gun

I actually quite like Dont Pass Me By. I don’t skip it if I have the album on.

But I left off some songs I like a lot.
Long, Long, Long
Me and My Monkey
Yer Blues and
Good Night

And I’m happy listening to Honey Pie and Obla Di too

But there’s more than one albums worth of good material there. It’s just padded a bit with things like Rev 9, Wild Honey pie etc

Glad to hear that, Moog.  Plus Don't Pass Me By was full of clues.    ;D

A pity John had not beefed up Revolution 1 prior to the release of 'The Beatles'. That would have certainly found a way into my 14.

Song good enough to be a single. However Paul had written Hey Jude & it was decided a double A side was not needed.

When George Harrison visited Bob Dylan and The Band at Big Pink, they told him that Don't Pass Me By was their favorite track on The White Album.

There were no guitars on The Beatles' recording.  With guitars and a country rock tempo, The Georgia Satellites made Don't Pass Me By sound like this in 1988...

I can't select just 14 songs for such a White Album.  The Beatles was originally and should remain a double album.  I enjoy listening to the album without skipping any of the songs and have done so since i bought the album in 1968.  Yes, there were times I took the album out to listen to a particular song or songs but I think the sequencing of the songs made for the perfect set if you could imagine The Beatles playing live in concert.

Well, they never performed those songs live in concert form in 1968.  But if they had, the aural and visual experience would have been something like this...

Wow!  So far, I've listened to the 1st 3 songs of the album and I am amazed at how beautiful "Dear Prudence" sounds.  Also, "Glass Onion" is mesmerizing.  It's going to take a while and the right mood for me to listen to the entire concert by the Analogues.   What a reminder this is of how talented and truly gifted the Beatles were!

Right.  Then you can watch them perform the Sgt. Pepper's album...
