I'd give it a 3 1/2, but since that isn't possible, a 3. I don't think it is the Sgt Pepper masterpiece like A Day In The Life or Sgt Pepper, but it isn't a complete train wreck. But it is a very good tune  :)

It's one of my favorite Beatles songs so I gave it a four. The tune by itself is OK, but what they and George Martin did to it in Studio 2 was just magic, IMO  :)

i voted 4
the bassline is one of my favorites of any beatles song
the opening piano chords and "ahhhh" equal one of the best song intros ever

what keeps this song from being overly 'cute' with it's corny-ish subject/plot is

1) john's ethereal voice in the backing vocals

and

2) the heavy breathing psychedelic buildup part (leave it) at the end

I think that the piano solo is super. Nice groove all over the song. I can't said that's the Paul`s best in the album, his other contribution are brilliants (My favourite is Getting Better) but I put 4, like his other songs in Pepper

Gave it a 4.  I wouldn't say it is an all-time classic, but just a really darn good song that I never tire of.  It is so catchy to me.

Utterly charming and unimprovable. This is one of my favourite McCartney tunes.

I gave it a four. Your comments are reassuring since this song has been criticised a lot recently.
And Lennon gets in on the fun too which is exactly what he didn't do on Maxwell.

4. I love it, and think it's one of the best songs on Sgt Pepper's.

This is one of my favourite song off Sgt. Peppers and have always considered this song a really great one of theirs.

Actually, the reason I ask is because in the newest issue of UNCUT, Paddy McAloon from Prefab Sprout talks about the albums of his life (My Life in Music) and he says of Sgt Peppers:

Quote
There´s a couple of songs on it that aren´t fantastic, like Lovely Rita, but the overall pull of the album transcends them, and I find the atmosphere amazing. McCartney´s bass playing, "A Day in the Life"... I know the consenus now is for Revolver, but Sgt. Peppers deserves its status in the canon. The Beatles were always there for me, and this might be a cliché., but there´s a reason it´s a cliché.

Great pop song from Paul.

Might not be in the leauge of his absolute best songs on Sgt Pepper like "With A Little Help From My Friends", "Getting Better" and "She's Leaving Home" but it's still a great tune.

Catchy as hell as often when it comes to Paul and quite sexy in a way.

4/5 easily.

Great song.
