Best version of Kansas City?
« on: July 23, 2007, 02:21:18 AM »

I've just been listening to the Beatles at the Beeb, and Paul's voice on that version is absolutely SHREDDING. It's so raw and rough it puts death metal vocalists of 3-4 decades later to shame (not that I listen to that stuff). To my ears, the most amazing part of that most amazing performance was the 2nd verse that begins with "I say "BYE!".  DANG!!!

Yeah, BlueMeanie, it's hard to see how he could sing anything after that!

[Edit] - though I wouldn't be surprised to hear that later that night they played live and he sang it again, followed by some softie like "The Wedding Song". The guy had the most incredible voice.
