The movie was an endless series of cross purposes. Though the novel and movie hinted at a sequel, I'm happy that Margaret Mitchell never wrote one. What ultimately happened to Scarlett and Rhett will be speculated upon for eternity.
Kelley, it's worth the drive to see Gone With The Wind on the big screen. The first time I ever did was in 1975 at The Loew's Paradise Theatre in The Bronx on a BIG screen. As Kathleen said, it's much more fun with a crowd.
