Anybody read the book on Georges songs?
« on: August 03, 2005, 10:48:28 PM »

It's the one that explains all about every song it's like "Revolution In The Head" the book on The Beatles tunes, tells who played what, when it was recorded and explains about the songs.

I was wondering if it was as good as "Revolution In The Head", anyone help?

If you are referring to the book by Simon Leng: yes, it's good. If you like George's music, get it.

BTW, do you really mean Jonny? Or did you mean to type Johnny? Jonny looks odd.

Well, if there are Jons out there, then conceivably there could be Jonnys. We call him Jonny all the time, in fact.

Yes I mean Jonny, why would it be spelt like that otherwise?

BTW do you really mean Gwyn? It looks all welsh without any vowels

 ;)

I was thinking you might be thinking along the lines of "Johnny and the Moondogs" - one of the early names of what became the Beatles. If so it has to be Johnny (from John, as in Lennon). But evidently you aren't thinking along those lines at all, and your user name for a Beatles forum is a complete coincidence.

Gwyn? No vowels? You dodo - of course there's a vowel. The "y"! There are five letters that are ALWAYS vowels: a, e, i, o and u. One letter is sometimes a consonant, sometimes a vowel: y. There you go. Oh yes - Gwyn is Cornish, not Welsh. And it isn't my real name.

There'll be a short test later for you Jonny. Part 1, spelling. Part 2, consonants and vowels.

Bit testy over my reply? I only said it was meant to be spelt that way yet you give a huge reply to a question like yours. Easy girl calm down. I never knew Y was a vowel, I always was taught 5 vowels and that Y can be used in context as a vowel but it is not a vowel.

As for patronising by the "complete coincidence" comment it's pretty obvious that it is what it is, but I prefer Johnny spelt without the h actually hence I spell it that way, Jonny seems better to me.

Incidentally I said it looks welsh without the vowels, simply because the welsh use little vowels. I did not say the name itself was welsh... but thank you for the insight behind the name.

I shall test you next time on reading carefully what is written.  ;)

I'm a bloke, you boofhead. That was your first mistake.

Second mistake: sure you're not covering up a typo or spelling error with your rave? Hmm?

Third mistake: Not yours, but your teachers' - if y is a vowel "in context" (as you put it), then there are SIX. Listen to yourself: There are five vowels, except when there are six!

Fourth mistake: using my dig, namely "I shall test you next time on reading carefully what is written." No prize for second place, pal.

Fifth mistake: You haven't yet thanked me for answering your question about Leng's book! Silly boy! Bad boy!

I ain't in the business of listing everyones faults, seems a little petty really. I didn't bother checking if you're male or female but saying easy calm down girl is just a comment like how people call theirs cars a she. I did assume you were female however and thats my mistake.

And, Craig ...

Did my answer to your question about the Harrison book help at all? I mean, that's what you wanted to discuss, yeah?

Why pick on people all the time? Is it your number one pastime? Have you read yourself lately?

My sympathies Jonny. I aswell as others, have suffered the same. You are not alone... lol

Hey don't worry about me, I just don't give him what he wants... hence his replies directed to insight me in some way... but you see how he keeps wanting thanks for answering my question... I give thanks to those that deserve it and antagonists don't.  ;D

Fact: I am the only one to answer his question. And I enquired, gently, as to the Jonny thing. Then I copped the abuse, which I returned.

Further example of your inability to suss what's going on Appy. I have no respect at all for you any longer as a poster or a moderator. You frequently have a go at me for the littlest thing, but avoid big issues that need your attention. Remember how gutless you were about failing to call Indica on his "kick my f***ing face in" post?

I revel in close contests, and thoroughly enjoyed the test match. Sporting events that are not contests are boring. Rather like me getting the better of you in every stoush we have! I'd love you to give me a run for my money - oh well, I can dream ...

You certainly don't give me what I want. Good, intelligent posts are what I like to read, and I don't get that from you!

And the "thanks" matter ... it's very revealing as to your character that you refuse to thank me for actually answering your question. The character trait it reveals is a meanness of spirit.

And I'm not trying to "insight" you - hey, I'm not even trying to "incite" you. ;D

That's ok, you can have your spellings and amazing abilities to be the best at everything. I hope that it helps you out during your life. If it's character analysis you are looking for then making rash assumptions on somebodies spirit or personality based on 1 thing speaks volumes about how you must be moreso than me simply not thanking you when you started to be patronising towards me when you didn't even know me.

If you are looking for good intelligent posts then why don't you start some? I (like you) am yet to see any from yourself... but I haven't been on this forum for long and am yet to make many threads and posts.
