I guarantee that if they DO release 2 versions (not virgins!!) and if you buy one of them, then the OTHER ONE will suddenly become very valuable and rare - it's law of sod!!! :)

Wouldn't that depend on how long they sell the other 1 for. If they sold the first one for a year it wouldn't be too valuable.

Lets hope this gets sort out for the release date. I wouldn't want to buy without the true mono mixes.

Why does everything that has to do with the greatest catalogue of music ever, done so half-assed?  You would think that each 'product' would be treated like a jewel, not just another 'product' to shove down Beatle fan's throats. Unconscionable as far as I'm concerned.

Well their not pushing back the release date or anything, so what Im wondering is if the problem was fixed or not. I think I might just take my chances and get it on the release date cause its 15$ cheaper on that day only at the music shop I go to. I could always complain and try to return it if its the wrong one.

I'm taking a chance here and put my order in for the first issue of the box set because apparantly Capitol has realised the mistakes and will offer a certificate or something like that, to replace 'Beatles VI' and 'Help' at no charge. So you get the best of both worlds--something that will probably be a collector's item and the corrected CDs. If you order through the Beatlefest site, it also comes with a sampler which will also be a rarity/collector's item.

They did a second pressing of the correct tapes, but they're still going to sell the first pressing which has the folded down mono versions.

found this on beatlesdays.com:

From all the reports on the net and the emails that we have received, everyone who bought the new CAPITOL ALBUMS VOL. 2 box set yesterday has found that their discs contained the FOLD DOWNS of the stereo mixes instead of the true mono mixes of BEATLES VI and RUBBER SOUL.
Obviously, the sets have not been recalled and the first pressings will contain these incorrect mixes. Subsequent issues will have the correct mixes, so if it is these you are looking for, it appears that you will have to wait.
There is still no news from CAPITOL about this and, incredibly, the official BEATLES website has still not been updated to mark the release of the set.
Maybe later today....?

i bought the capitol box set yesterday evening, and I only had time to listen to the first album, but if they say they contain the wrong mixes I guess I'll have to get myself another one from the subsequent issues...

They said there will be a way to to replace the incorrect mixes. They haven't said how yet though.

HUGE thanks for this Junior!!! BUT, I need some help!!! I ordered the CDs from The Fest last week but they have just informed me that they have run out of the WRONG mono mix version, so I need to buy it elsewhere.

So... how do I identify the version of the boxset with the WRONG mono mixes? Any ideas anyone?

I don't think there's any way to tell from the outside, but if you put in the Rubber Soul disc I'm pretty sure the false start should only be on the stereo version so if it's also on the mono version you have the wrong mono mix version.

Yeah, that's the problem - I wont know until I get it, so I need some way of finding confirming I'm ordering the WRONG mono mixes.
