Live Peace In Toronto is a great classic rock live album in its own right which is highly underrated for some reason showcasing John at his finest in one of his best live performances as a solo artist with the first incarnation of the Plastic Ono Band, the video of this legendary performance which I saw about 15 years ago is great with John wearing his suit from Abbey Road along with a scruffy beard/mustache & his shoulder length long hair rocking out with Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman & Alan White while Yoko's part I can do without!!!

Neither - it was pure nerves!

True...there have been a number of reports saying it was the heroin.
However John had truly developed a case of extremely bad nerves in live situations, and was usually sick in those few post-Beatle scenarios.
So it could be either...take your choice I guess.

that band save for yohn and jocko had never played together b4.they never even rehearsed either.
so wayne how great john must be to give such a preformance?
?
clapton was one of johns heroin buddies.so it could go either way drugs or nerves.maybe he was nervous about the drugs he was taking?or he was taking drugs for his nerves?who knows ?i don't i was not there.

Sorry, I forgot were talking about Live Peace! I meant he lost his lunch at the NYC and Madison SG (Elton John's concert) due to nerves apparently. Blimey, didn't he throw up a lot!!! LOL

As any Lennon fan should know, John was always honest. If it had been heroin, he would have told you straight out. It was probably nerves, just like he said - performing live without the Beatles and knowing that's what everyone expected.
As such, I was never big on TORONTO. Precisely because Lennon sounds so obviously nervous and uptight. But he settles in as it goes on.

I like this live album more than the other one........not counting the Yoko stuff at the end, of course.........it's so raw, mostly due to the band being unprepared. I just love the sound they captured, just real rock n' roll.

Don't ask me why, but I've come to like "Don't Worry Kyoko" - the music, anyway. I like watching thr band doing this in the TORONTO film.
