He had his moped accident somewhere in May 1966 and didn't grow a moustache until September or October that year. They all grew a moustache and it wasn't to hide scars. In fact I think George started the fashion.

Hmm I've always read that Paul was the first one to grow a stache, and the others liked it so they decided to grow them as well, but I was always confused about the length of time between the accident and when he actually started growing it.

As much as I dislike the mullet, I've come to see past it. However, it is the 70's revival of the stache that I dislike even more than the 60s version...
