Let It Be...Naked is better. The real sound of the Beatles!

LIB.  I like the strings of TLAWR and especially love the guitar solo in the song LIB.  Plus, the dramatic cut-off to Get Back on Naked is so awful -- I definitely prefer Lennon's "I hope we passed the audition" remark a lot better :)

Definately the "Naked" version.

1. The talking in between songs, and "Dig it" and "Maggie Mae" are gone.
Therefore it's not as sloppy anymore.

2. Everyone knows Let It Be was supposed to sound like a live album, without any overdubs, but it ended up being a messy album with a few live sounding songs mixed with a few bombastic songs with a million additional musicians.
On "Naked" they all sound live, so it's more of a whole.

3. The sound of "Naked" is much cleaner, fresher and more up to date.

So I like "Naked" a lot better than the original.

Even though I must admit I love Phil Spector's arrangement for "The long and winding road"...

Hmmm I don't have "Naked" yet. :'( So I guess I'll go with what I know -- Let It Be.

Let it Be Naked.

Although this controversial re-issue may have attracted Anti-Mccartney slack,  I feel the form and mood this album pushes foward symbolises the attitude and emotion that was felt in the 'dark' period...all those years ago.

The original is smothered by the vital ( and unnesessary) ingredient of lush string arrangements, a forceful touch from the Walt Disney-like Spector. This fantasy light hearted injection goes against the very principles of Let It be, emphasising the slap-up route the Beatles took..and creating a sore contradiction of character.

Enter Mccartney..
Depart Strings..

The harsh often brutally honest listen which is now heard on Naked brings across the cold sensation of the 'Let It be Sessions'..a remarkable insight, created merely from a wall of sound (minus a few bricks).

Er ... you do know how much the LIBN tracks were fiddled with, don't you? There's just as much messing about with the originals on LIBN as there was by Spector on LIB! It's just different fiddling.

There was a huge amount of nonsense around at the time of LIBN's release. Looks like it's still here in this little corner of the fabiverse.

Ah, I was under the impression that you thought there was no fiddling on LIBN.

By the way, these words:

Fiddling - To meddle or tamper.

Let It be Naked...has been tampered with to give....(my original response).

Hopefully, you will see.

I love Let it Be just the way it is, but I haven't heard the Naked version so who knows. Maybe I'd like it better. But I doubt it. I have a hard time accepting changes!!

Loads of Beatles song from 1965-1969 had major fiddling.

LIBN is great, much better than that awful sounding original.

Gawd, that's a bit harsh, isn't it? I mean, AWFUL SOUNDING? I've Got A Feeling just uses a different take.  Get Back sounds exactly the same but doesn't have that cool climax.  I Me Mine is exactly the same.  Two of Us sounds the same only you can hear the voices better (I actually don't like that).

The only three you can see that I think MIGHT sound "awful" are LIB, Long and Winding Road, and Across the Universe.  And while the last two are debatable, LIB awful?!?!?! :(

Well, I must say I like both. The Naked is a bit that, more naked, where you can hear the songs moer clearly, but take into account that JOHN wanted it the other way, and that's why he chose Spector to fix and arrange the things. Of course, I think if he had listened to the naked "Across the Universe" he would have been more than pleased, but anyway, we'll never know what he would have thought...
