I'm with you, Moogmodule, there's barely the width of a cigarette paper between any of them.
Music radio is such in Britain (it truly is awful) that if a DJ announces he, it is always a he, is going to play a Them song, he will play one of three Them songs ('Gloria', 'Here Comes The Night' or 'Baby Please Don't Go' - absolute NO exceptions), and ONLY one of those three songs.
This policy is carried through for pretty much any act you care to mention and is usually combined with a jingle suggesting that his particular radio station offers 'more musical choice'!
On any given day, indeed in any given hour, you'll be hard pressed NOT to hear 'House of the Rising Sun', 'Groovin'', 'A Whiter Shade of Pale', 'San Francisco' or 'Something In The Air' on your radio dial.
As such, I'm almost obliged to listen to the margins/the obscure/b-sides over a-sides etc., hence my slightly perverse Top 3.
