The Rolling Stones first UK lp: it's the same as the ABKCO version, except that it's got "Mona" instead of "Not Fade Away." The record sounds like it's probably the Stones stage act the time, and if so, despite what might be said of some of Jagger's vocals, they were a great, vibrant club act.

;) yep, they had an amazing run of singles and albums throughout the 70's. i still think that
their most underated album is Secret Messages though. i've kind of re-discovered that recently &
love every song on it. listening to Jeff's guitar playing, it is interesting how much he sounds like
George Harrison! check this out...

I like this topic!  So, it's getting a bump!

I'm totally appreciating "Brain Salad Surgery" (1973) ~ ELP lately.....................and in the process of moving ALL ELP's catalog onto my I-Pod.  I don't have a pic of the Album cover (which was bizarre at the time). Of course, we all know how the prog-rockers are being snubbed by the R&RHOF  If the Moody Blues EVER get in, I think this will pave the way for these guys (and YES too).

Hey Bobber..........thanks for posting the album cover for me!  I've got the original vinyl, and that cover was a cut-out that opened up..............unique and probably costly to produce!

Think ELO's 70's stuff is brilliant Andy , lot's of great musical treasures .

ELO bassplayer Kelly Groucutt died last week of a heartattack. He was 63 years old.

yeah, i coundn't believe that, such sad news. he sang some lead as well on a few songs, like
Nighrider, Above the Clouds, and a bit on Sweet Talkin Woman.
