It is still absolutely brutal here. I sent these pics to my dad in Florida, asking him if he missed winter. His reply was a resounding "No."

It's the visibility that's the worst. All it takes is literally less than half an inch (1.25 cm) of snow, and when the wind gets going you can't see a foot in front of your face, even in town.

I'll stop kvetching about the weather now.

Ha ha. I'm completely snowed in by 6-foot (1.8-m) snowdrifts, supposed to get to 20 feet (6 m). Maybe I'll put up the tree again and throw on a holiday movie.

Some of the drifts are actually quite pretty:

The first winter we lived here we put our Christmas tree at the end of the driveway for the post-holiday pickup. It froze to the ground and was there until May.

Actually, when I took that pic we were sitting at a toasty—for us—27 F (–2.7 C).
