Kelley, your timing is perfect! I really needed a laugh today. I hadn't seen that skit before; I haven't watched SNL since the 80s.

Paul's a good sport. I recall seeing another SNL clip with him and Chris Farley that was pretty funny, too. I'll have to dig it up.

I’m so glad you liked it, Kathy! When that aired back in 2012 I didn’t know Paul was going to be on. I just happened to turn it on at the right moment. I loved that choir then and now. They looked so excited to be there.

What a beautiful tribute. You can hear the emotion in Cave's voice. I had tears in my eyes listening.

There’s also this video of Glen Hansard (guitarist from the Commitments and star of the film Once) doing a  great version of Fairytale of New York with a female singer I didn’t recognise. Toward the end Shane’s family get up and start dancing.

You beat me to it; I was just going to post that link! I see that someone in the YouTube comments said something along the lines of "If people are dancing at your funeral, you know you've done something right." 

As someone of Irish ancestry who grew up listening to Irish music (Galway Bay, mentioned in Fairytale of New York, is a favorite) I felt particularly emotional watching the funeral coverage.

I did not recognize Glen Hansard from Once and The Commitments. Time to watch those two films again.
