I just caught this documentary of John Lennons childhood and youth and really enjoyed it.  Lot of mendip, childhood friend stuff that goes into deep detail.  Highly recommended.

Thanks for mentioning this Todd. I just added it to my Amazon Prime watchlist for this weekend. Last weekend I struggled through Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young: 50 by 4. It had some interesting stuff in it but man; their contentious interpersonal struggles got old!
