Espana cani / Spanish Fire Dance
« on: January 17, 2009, 12:00:51 AM »

Hi, ;)

In Walter Everett book, vol. I, p. 375, footnote 81, is stated that one of the songs The Beatles were asked to perform by Janice the stripper at Allan Williams' New Cabaret Artists Club in Liverpool in July 1961, was "...Spanish Fire Dance (Espana cani)...", i.e., Everett equates 'Espana cani' with 'Spanish Fire Dance'.

My question is: which song is known for you -non Spanish people- as 'Spanish Fire Dance'?? I mean: which tune do you associate with that title?? Maybe 'Espana cani', as Everett seems to do?? Or perhaps it's another different tune??

I will wait for your answer...

Best wishes!! ;)

Sorry no, not on this one.

Thank you anyway!! ;)

Let's wait for other possibilities...

Naturally enough, I made a mistake in my 1st message: the 'Janice_the_stripper_affair' was in July 1960, and not 1961...

Best!! ;)
