Are there any fat fans on this forum?
« on: December 14, 2016, 07:43:36 PM »

I have a problem with life-long overweight (after my teen years).  I feel kind of alone right now because it's Christmas season and my sweet tooth is aching real bad.  I've already consumed too much sugar this morning and at lunch time.  I have to lose weight due to health issues.

After reading many many posts here, I can't picture anyone of you as being fat (overweight).  I'm looking for some friends in solidarity.  What say you?  Anybody else in my shoes?  Any sweet-tooth deterrent type advice?  Thanks much!

After 3 cruises this year I  was 80kg  = BMI 26
I'm now down to 72kg = BMI 23

It's just will power really to resist junk food

And the size of your meals of course, being active helps

I feel a bit better.  Thanks.   I appreciate tkitna's statement especially.  I had to get my metric converter out to figure nimrod's weight in pounds.  Actually, that seems like a great thin weight!  I'll never be that.  Bingo: me, too.  I'm always saying I wish I could lose 20 and much more.  Bobber:  I have no idea of 2 kilograms in pounds.  Let's see.  Okay, that's about 4.5.

You guys who grew up with the metric system (in Britain?), do you understand pounds or do you have to look them up and convert them to kilos just like I have to convert kilos to pounds?

I grew up in England where it was pounds till things went metric in the 70's

So I  understand both systems

BTW a kilogram is 2.2 pounds

I can't tell English and American miles apart, let alone all the other things like pounds, ounce, inches and feet.
