I reckon it's a pretty good list. And some interesting comments by Ozzy.  icon_good

the big takeaway for me is hearing another "icon" in the music business saying they chose music because of the Beatles.  Interesting comments on a couple of the songs, unfortunately it was a single sentence at best on most of the 10 listed.  Wish there had been more thoughts captured but if it was done recently, maybe the thoughts just weren't there?

I can't argue with his choices.  Here they are in descending order.  Out of these the ones I like the most are:  Walrus, Day, Eleanor, and Strawberry.  Of these, Day, the most.  I will say that I think Eleanor is one of the best of all the Beatles songs.  A Day is an absolute masterpiece IMO.  The Road is so sentimental that it can make you cry.

She loves you
I want to hold your hand
I am the walrus
A day in the life
Hey Jude
Help
Eleanor Rigby
Something
Strawberry Fields
The long and winding road

I immediately saw 'The Long And Winding Road' at #10 and quit reading.  I hate that song and I knew I wouldnt be interested in the rest of his list.

Yeah I’m not sure how much thinking really goes on in Ozzy’s noggin anymore.

tkitna:  You know, I kind of shared your dislike of The Long and Winding RoadIt just seems that in my latter years, I've softened my stance when listening to it.  It really seems like Paul's goodbye song to the Beatles to me now.  One thing about it, I've always thought it was overplayed to the extent that you stop liking it.  That's kind of like the movie, "The Night of the Living Dead."  I've always thought that was probably the best zombie movie ever made and, in fact, it became a template for countless other zombie-themed movies.  But now, I can hardly watch it because it's been way overplayed over the years.  It's like the default movie for a horror fest movie night.  I've also softened to Paul's song, Let it be.  It's more satisfying to me now than it ever was before.  I was never fond of it yet I was also unable to not sing along to it while it was playing and even afterward.  Sometimes I like a Beatles song while I'm hearing it but not when it's not playing and I happen to think about it.  Ob La Di is another example of that.  I can say I don't like it but if it's playing I can't help but sing along to it.

I totally understand that.  I guess hate is a strong word.  I just find it really boring and have never really cared for it for some reason.  I can see why people do like it though.

LaWR I go back and forth on. If I hear it amongst other Beatle songs it usually underwhelms me. But if I hear it come up on a random playlist or on the radio I quite like it.

I definitely like the strings and heavenly choir. Its such a beautiful song, when I listen to the Naked version it sounds a bit empty, like a demo.
I guess Im conditioned to the Specter version.

I generally go for the more unadorned version. I like Bills organ playing in it. I don’t mind the strings but I find the choir a little OTT.
