New guide to Beatles attractions
Tourists in Liverpool can now get hold of a free guide to help them discover The Beatles' attractions in the city. The Liverpool Culture Company has produced a "Home of The Beatles" map to provide enthusiasts with a guide to how the Fab Four lived before Beatlemania. The guide is the first to contain all of the related attractions in the city, including the Cavern Club, The Beatles Story museum and Magical Mystery Tour.
About 600,000 people visit the city every year because of its Beatles link.
The Beatles related visitors generate 20m pound towards the tourism economy every year and interest is expected to soar in 2008, which is European Capital of Culture year. Keith Blundell, of the culture company, said: "The Beatles are one of the most fascinating aspects of Liverpool's culture and musical heritage. "This interactive guide provides new and illuminating insights into the lives of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
"It will be invaluable to any fan."
