The Who are my favourite band along with The Beatles. Everybody says Who's Next is the best, but I dont find it that good. Tommy and Quadrophenia are the best in my opinion.

I think robert plant is a better vocalist
I think David GLimour and Jimmy Page are better at guitar then pete
I think both led zeppelin and pink floyd have better songwriters, like roger waters who wrote the wall, jimmy page and robert plant who wrote, the rain song, stairway to heaven and amazing stuff like that.

And I think John Bonham is more talented as a drummer

But I do like the who, subsitute is a great song along with my generation

Who vs Led Zeppelin

Roger Daltrey vs Robert Plant- Roger wins....listen to "Love Rein Oer Me" and "Wont Get Fooled Again"

John Paul Jones vs John Entwistle- The Ox wins....many reasons, pretty obvious

Keith Moon vs John Bonham- these are the 2 greatest drummers in my opinion..tohugh I think Bonham was the best thing that came out of Led, I have to go with Moonie on this one,, way funner to watch, and is better at drumming in my opinion

Jimmy Page vs Pete Townshend- I hate to say this, but I think Page is a better guitarist....but I like Pete more, and Pete is a way better songwriter, and I like Petes style more than Pages, Heaven and hell, Young Man Blues beats Pages guitar work for me,, Pete smashed guitars, etc.. Pete Townshend is my favorite out of the two

The Who would be way funner to see live than Led---guitar smashing, ox solos, etc etc...

The Who vs Pink Floyd

David Gilmour vs Pete Townshend- Dave wins, I think hes the greatets guitarist of all time

John Entwistle vs Roger Waters- at the bass, I go for John, but Waters wins overall

Nick Mason vs Keith Moon- this really depends, if im trying to go to sleep, I prefer Masons drumming, like on careful with that ax eugene.....but Moonie wins

I cant do a good Floyd vs Who one, but overall--- Floyd wins- better music

but Who is better live than floyd

^not sure about that one. if you ever get one of the floyd live dvds they can do some amazing stuff and they sound a lot better.

but yeah, the who put on an exciting show.

This is all very subjective, but the same could be said about the Who only in the opposite direction. As vocalists, they can both get on my nerves at times, but Roger is a powerhouse and interprets Who songs as well as Plant does Zeppelin songs. (Floyd, I can't compare here. Too different) I think Pete is WAY underrated as a guitarist and Page is WAY overrated. (Gilmour is even more underrated than Pete) I think Townshend is a SUPERIOR songwriter to all. He wrote Tommy for Gods sake. As good as the Wall any day. And he didn't just stick to the same three topics as Roger did. (War, education, insanity) Not that I don't love Roger Waters or Floyd, I do, but I'm just saying. As for drummers..........Keith Moon and John Bonham. Cut from the same cloth I'd say. Both amazing, both crazy, both perfect for their groups. I happen to prefer Moon though. That's just me. I'd say he was the original and a huge innovator, but Bonham is not far behind. Anyway, I think all three bands are equal in that they all earned a place in rock history and they all have their own unique sound and they all will never be equaled. I just prefer the Who over Zeppelin is all. Oh, and Floyd is on their own plane all together.

Oh, and as for the Who and Floyd live. Keep in mind that Floyd used a lot of gimmicks in order to wow the audience. They always did. Lights, walls, flying pigs. The Who basically did it bare bones. They may have smashed their instruments at the beginning, but that didn't last long. It's all about their music. They did it at the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus, Leeds, Isle of Wight, and that NY concert. It's all about the music with them. But then I've never seen Floyd live so who knows.

Jimmy Page wrote stairway to heaven is that not good songwriting! As well as the rain song and much others
Jimmy Pages guitar in Achillees last stand is more amazing then anyother guitar
John Bonhams drums in achilless last stand and Dazed and confused are amazing
I dont know anyhting about john paul Jones

But I dont think Jimmy Page is overrated
And I do think Pete Townshend is underrated but page still beats him

pete townsend is one of the best songwriters of rock, but he could never come up with anything like stairway to heaven. pete was great at writing songs about society, youth, and crap liek that, but you jsut don't get the same type of intensity with the who that you get frrom listening to zeppelin.

zeppelin didn't need to destroy their instruments, nor did they need lights and flying pigs. They just relied on the mysticism and depth of their music to attract fans.

in the end, it's really a matter of taste. ZEPPELIN KICKS ASS

number14, john paul jones was a pretty awesome bassist. not nearly as good as the ox, but still great. the basswork on dazed and confused and the lemon song really deserve some recognition.
